A Gaeltacht (Irish speaking area) will be “popping” up in King O’Malley’s on 13 August at 7pm, in the Snug Room (up the stairs behind the bar)
This event will be grand craic!
Everyone is welcome, from people who haven’t got a word of Irish (but would like to learn a few phrases, or just listen to spoken Irish) to those who have a little Irish, to fluent Irish speakers.
Enhancing the craic, some Irish songs will be sung as gaeilge (in Irish)
The evening will be held at the same time as Canberra Ceoltóirí Traidisiúnta na hÉireann (Canberra traditional Irish musicians) hold their seisiún ceoil (music session); providing the enchantment of traditional Irish music in the front section of the pub.
You might also partake of a delicious King O’Malley’s meal, imbibe a Guinness (or two), or try the mulled wine.
This fun event is organised jointly by the Friends of Ireland Society (FOI) and the Canberra Irish Language Association (CILA).
